Short description:

The aim of the events was to debate about Roma history, Roma heritage and present life of  Roma in the Czech Republic and Europe.  The workshop in the Bruntal was held by Roma activist and singer Tibor Žida who spoke about Roma history and  history of Roma music and played some old Roma songs.

In school in the Prague the historian Barbora Horváthová from Roma Museum in Brno spoke about Roma history  and Roma Holocaust and projected some pictures. In Pobezovice school the activist Roman Dužda and Roma poet Margita Lacková spoke about Roma history,  Holocaust and Roma culture with demonstration of some Roma poetry.

We found out in the workshop that even the older Roma children knew nothing or just minimum about Roma  history and Roma culture. The main problem is to mix the culture of poverty with Roma culture. Through our  volunteers (4 volunteers) who delivered the workshop modules we spoke with Roma and majority children about  the history of discrimination of Roma and how we can use the existing democratic provision and regulations to fight  such conducts
