Community activities

We have been organized 6 workshops and different educational activities: We managed to reach in total 114participantsin this working package via ZOOM activities and face-to-face activities that we have been organized in this period.

2.1: The role of intercultural learning in Roma inclusion

Participation: The event involved 15 citizens, all residents of Serbia

Location/ Dates: The event took place online, Serbia, on 07 March, 2021

EDIT Center in partnership with Instututefür Roma und Minderheiten Integratione organized a Zoom workshop “The role of intercultural learning in Roma inclusion” which was held on March 7, 2021. starting at 10am via the Zoom platform. The workshop was intended for young people aged 15-30. Some of the topics covered in the workshop were: -What is youth work as an activity and what are its forms? -What is interculturality and how does it manifest itself? – Are you interested in how interculturality affects Roma inclusion? – You want your opinion to be heard, how do you see the inclusion of your fellow citizens? – Do you want to get involved in youth work and contribute to the development of society, especially marginalized groups? – What are examples of good intercultural practice?

The workshop leaders are: Aleksandra Aleksandrović, drama pedagogue, journalist of Radio Television of Vojvodina and Roma activist Novak Stanišić, Ma pedagogue, assistant in youth work programs and leader of Familylab inspirational seminars

2.2: Promotion of Handbooks for Non-Discrimination

Participation: The event involved 26 citizens, all residents of Serbia

Location/ Dates: The event took place online, Serbia, on 15 March, 2021

EDIT Center has organized a Zoom lecture “Promotion of Handbooks for Non-Discrimination” which was held on Monday 15.3.2021. starting at 19:30 via the Zoom platform. The lecture was intended for young people aged 15-30. The lecture presented several manuals with exercises / methods / workshops that can be used in working with young people on the topics of anti-discrimination, anti-Gypsyism, stereotypes and prejudices, human rights. All manuals are applicable in both offline and online environments.

The workshop leaders were:

2.3: Media Literacy – The Position of Roma in the Media

Participation: The event involved 12 citizens, all residents of Serbia

Location/ Dates: The event took place online, Serbia, on 28 March, 2021

EDIT Center hasorganized the Zoom workshop ” Media Literacy – The Position of Roma in the Media”, which was held on Sunday, March 28, 2021. starting at 10:00 am via the Zoom platform. The workshop was intended for young people aged 15-30. At the lecture, we dealt with media stupidity with the greatest emphasis on the presentation and position of Roma in the media. In addition, we have dealt with the types of manipulations used in spreading false news, misinformation, semi-true news and the like.

The workshop leaders were:

  2. Alexandra Franciska Boos, student of the Department of Media Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad and

2.4: European Solidarity Corps (ESC)

Participation: The event involved 10 citizens, all residents of Serbia

Location/ Dates: The event took place online, Serbia, on 10 April, 2021

The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) offers you work or internship opportunities that will enable you to contribute to solving social problems and helping communities in need, while developing skills and gaining work experience. Are you ready for a challenge, intercultural learning and would you be happy to help others through volunteer engagement or practice? Then sign up for the ZOOM workshop where Katarina Cenic, a former ESC volunteer, will share her long-term ESC experience from France where she spent 11 months working in an international team and providing support to foreign volunteers. The workshop aims to show young people how activism and volunteering can significantly contribute to the development of society and how to get involved in the new European Solidarity Force (ESC) program, which brings many benefits to young people. European Solidarity Corps – ESC is a European Union program that creates opportunities for young people to volunteer or work on projects in their country or abroad that benefit communities and people across Europe. It brings together young people to build a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable people and responding to societal challenges. It offers an inspiring and empowering experience for young people who want to help, learn and develop. The workshop “ESC-From volunteering to solidarity” was held on Saturday, April 10, 2021. starting at 12:00 via the Zoom platform.

The workshop was intended for young people aged 18-30. At the workshop, we also dealt with the ESC program, its concept, ways to apply and participate, advantages and disadvantages. The workshop leader was: Katarina Cenić, graduate pedagogue and youth representative of Serbia in the EuroPeers International working group.

2.5 Volunteering combat the social stigma toward the Roma

Participation: The event involved 30 citizens, from the city of Novi Sad

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Economic school Svetozar Miletić and High School MC Vision Academy in Novi Sad, Serbia, on 27 October, 2021


We have been organized workshops about social stigma related to Roma young people and how volunteering can help to reduce it.

30 young people were participated in two workshops organized in two high schools: Economic school Svetozar Miletić and High School MC Vision Academy in Novi Sad.

The main goal was to influence on perception of young people related to public pictures that they have towards to Roma people and provide discussion about still present social stigma regarding to their vulnerability. Second part of the workshop were dedicated to volunteering and EU Programme for volunteers and how ESC can make impact on young attitudes and reduce stigma and discrimination.

2.6: Volunteering and Active participation of Roma

Participation: The event involved 21 citizens, from the city of Novi Sad

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Novi Sad, Serbia, on 18 December, 2021

We have organized training for volunteers and topics that were involved: volunteers opportunities, social Inclusion and supporting Roma young people in active participation and presenting the Programme Erasmus+ and ESC. Therefore, one part was dedicated to direct support to Roma people and outreach work with them in order to include them more in the society and community life.

The training was involved 21 young people from region of Vojvodina, with various educational backgrounds (pedagogies, future social workers, psychologists, students, etc.)
