Report Hate Speech Online

The event involved 36 citizens, from the city of Tirana, Albania

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Tirana, Albania, on 07th April, 2021

Roma Versitas Albania students have taken an initiative to inform the Roma community about the situation of hate speech cases in online media in Albania.

They conducted an information session with 36 residents of the Roma and non-Roma community in the Tufina area in the city of Tirana, Albania.

Info Session was held on April 7, 2021, in Tirana where 36 adult participants over 18 years old were registered. The Info session started at 4:30 pm and ended at 6:30 pm.

The objectives of this info session entitled “Report Hate Speech Online” were:

1- For people to learn what hate speech is?

2- How can hate speech be identified online and offline.

3-informing participants how they could report hate speech online.

4-Recognition of relevant Institutions which take measures against hate speech online and offline as the Ombudsman and Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination.
