National Trainng in Albania

Participation: The event involved 62 citizens, from the city of Tirana, Albania, Social Workers, Psychologist, Police Officers, Teachers and Sociologist

Location/ Dates: The event took place online, on 10 March, 2021

On the 10th of March 2021,we had the opportunity to make possible the national pieces of training for police officers, social workers, teachers in secondary and elementary schools, municipality staffs focused on the main Roma cultural and social issues and problems, we provided them with tools and solutions to manage cases of racism, discrimination, and issues related to them.

We achieved the following results:

– Promoted Roma culture in institutions, schools, universities, municipalities, and social centres.

– Developed policies to promote awareness among law-enforcement institutions regarding the situation ofRoma to counteract prejudice and negative stereotypes.

– Improved practicing of public services respecting and protecting the rights of Roma communities.

– Shared our experience working with the Roma community, and provide them effective solutions. – Developed policies and procedures to ensure an effective institutional response to racially motivated violence or denial of social rights against Roma people
